A masterclass room in Angel, for up to 15

Studio 337 is a private Georgian floor in Angel hired by the hour for workshops, masterclasses and teaching days. A full ten-hour day is £600.

Teaching a workshop in a hotel meeting room is a poor advert for you. This is a room with chandeliers, cornicing and double-height windows, which matters when your students spend the day photographing it and posting as they go. Blackout blinds for projection, a lift to the floor, and your own door code so you can set up before anyone arrives.

Capacity and rate

Up to eight people on the standard rate at £75 an hour. Up to fifteen on the commercial rate at £100 an hour.

Which one applies is about headcount and whether the day is commercially funded, not about how you describe it. If you are unsure, email and we will tell you straight.

The room, laid out

Open plan, so you can set a horseshoe, rows, or clear the floor entirely. There is a separate treatment and changing area at the far end that works as a break-out or a store for kit.

Oak floorboards, a fireplace, crystal chandeliers and original cornicing — it photographs well, which is the point when your attendees are posting all day.

Projection and blackout

Blackout blinds are fitted, so slides and screens read properly even with south-facing windows behind you.

Power is ordinary domestic sockets around the room. Bring your own projector or screen; none is provided.

Access for your group

There is a lift to the first floor, so the room is reachable step-free.

Angel is eight minutes on foot, Old Street nine. Metered pay-by-phone parking is two minutes away — the main road is a red route, so nobody can stop directly outside to unload.

A full teaching day

Ten hours is £600, which works out at £60 an hour and usually covers set-up, the session itself and a clean reset.

If you are running a series, overnight prop hold is £125 and lets you leave the room laid out rather than striking it each evening.

Catering and deliveries

You are welcome to bring catering in. There is no kitchen, so plan for cold service or an outside caterer who brings their own.

Deliveries need someone in the room to receive them — there is no front desk, and the door code is yours alone.

There is a lift to the first floor, so the room is reachable without stairs.
Can we bring catering in?
